The first years of the ‘20s have been difficult for us all. Most of Tennessee’s museums were closed for months. Staff worked remotely or were laid off or let go. And we missed two years of gathering in person with our TAMfam. But, 2022 is coming and the Tennessee Association of Museums will be meeting on March 16-18 in Kingsport. We can’t wait to see all of you in-person!

TAM 2022 will be in the beautiful Tri-Cities area of Tennessee. We will explore Bristol, Kingsport, and Jonesborough and enjoy the mountain views. We are taking our inspiration for our conference theme from the Tri-Cities. We are hoping that 2022 will bring us a TRIfecta of positivity to Tennessee’s museum of community and that we will be holding the conference in a time where we are recovering from the effects of the pandemic, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, and responding to the needs of our communities and state.

After a year and a half of disruption and chaos, especially within the cultural and hospitality sector, we need time together as the TAMfam. We need to talk about what we experienced, its impact on our future, and have some fun and time for self-healing.
